Custom Stamps: How to Design Your Own 3D Printed Stamp

Custom stamps used to mean emailing a design to an engraver and waiting a fortnight. Our Stamp Studio does it in a browser: type your text, pick a shape, or upload a logo — the studio mirrors it automatically (stamps print backwards so they stamp forwards), previews it live in 3D, and we print it to order in Melbourne.

Raised or recessed?

Raised is the classic rubber-stamp style: your design stands proud and prints the ink or presses the impression. It's the right choice for ink pads, clay maker's marks and fondant embossing. Recessed cuts the design INTO the face, so the surround makes contact and your design stays clean — the pick for wax-style impressions and debossing leather or soft clay.

What can a printed stamp handle?

Logos and drawings

The upload mode traces your logo or line drawing right in the browser — solid, high-contrast artwork traces best. Keep fine detail above about 1 mm line width so the printed face stays crisp.

Frequently asked questions

Does the stamp come out mirrored?

No — the studio mirrors your design automatically, so the stamped impression reads the right way. What you see in the preview is what the stamp prints.

Is it food safe for cookies and fondant?

Choose the food-safe PLA option and use it on cool food only, hand-wash without soaking. For frequent baking use we recommend re-ordering periodically, as printed layer lines can hold residue over time.

What ink works on a 3D printed stamp?

Standard water-based craft ink pads work well. Let the first couple of impressions bed the face in — the crispness improves after a few stamps.

Can you do my company logo?

Yes — upload it in the studio. Solid, high-contrast logos trace best; very fine hairlines below about 1mm may be simplified to stay printable.

How big can a stamp be?

The studio handles everything from a 20mm monogram to well over 100mm — the handle scales with it. For very large stamps, recessed designs stay flatter and press more evenly.

How long until it ships?
